#2 "Pure" & Audible Voices

Journal entry from February 19, 2021

An answered prayer - my name meaning. For year's I would search for my name meaning and nothing would come up. Last night I looked up "Katie", and it said "Pure". "Katharos" means Pure in Greek. We looked up my middle name, "Sue", and it means the lily flower, which also means PURE! "Maxham" means the maximum amount. So it's pure, pure, and the maximum amount. I couldn’t believe it, but I had just prayed Jeremiah 33:3: “Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know.”

In my search for the meaning of Pure, I found this interesting definition, which I thought was peculiar:

“Having exactly the talents and skills needed for a particular role.”

Matthew 5:8: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Katharos is the Greek word for Pure used here.

On September 14, 2022 I was sitting at work, the room was completely empty. I had just finished listening to a podcast on speaking in tongues, and I heard in my left ear what could have been a chair being pulled quickly along the floor or a loud screech. It was a very uncomfortable sound. However, it clearly said a word. I had my laptop open, so I immediately tried to spell out what I heard.

Raina

Name meaning - Hebrew - "Pure".

It didn't occur to me that it could have been a demonic spirit until I remembered this verse:

"And the evil spirit answered and said, 'Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?'" Acts 19:15

A week or two later on September 25th, I was at church flipping between Psalm 15 and Psalm 24, realizing how similar they are. They both ask, "Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?" Psalm 24 answers, "those with a Pure heart." I thought, wow! That's my name meaning! I had just read a woman's experience in Ladies of Gold who ascended the Mountain of the Lord in an encounter she had with God, and I had been praying, "I want that too!"

I flipped back to Psalm 15 and noticed a note at the top I wrote previously in response to "who can live on Your holy mountain."

I wrote, "YHWH, what's my name?"

Years before I knew that my name meant pure, I read this verse and the Holy Spirit led me to ask why my name meaning would be significant to it.

That evening, I was feeling so seen by God for this little insight that I thought, "I'm going to see if He'll show me what I'm supposed to paint!"

I was feeling immense pressure from the prophecy with no clear vision in sight of what to paint, I went into the studio, turned up worship music, got a canvas out, and started painting. It was going nowhere and I was getting frustrated. I had a sense in my spirit that I needed to just rest, not force this.

I went to the couch in the backyard and laid down. After a few minutes of keeping my mind on prayer, getting distracted, and coming back, I heard something that stopped my heart.

In my right ear, I heard an audible voice.

It was a gentle whisper.

In two beats.

I heard the name "Katie".
